Marcia

Marcia Franklin graduated in 1985 from the Athletic Therapy program at Sheridan College. Upon graduation she worked at Humber College for one year, traveled for 10 months, and returned to Sheridan College to manage the student learning clinic.

In 1990 she opened the clinic under the name of Oakville Athletic Therapy Centre as a sole proprietor.

Marcia has volunteered with the Canadian Athletic Therapist’s Association, holding positions on the Board of Directors at both provincial and national levels for over 9 years including terms as President and Ethics Committee Chairperson. Marcia has been selected to 3 Canadian Olympic Medical Teams, and has volunteered at several international sporting events held locally and abroad to provide medical coverage to the competing athletes. Professional development has been an ongoing passion for over 20 years. Marcia has pursued further educational experiences in Canada and the United States, with various seminar groups amounting to over 1500 hours of additional professional education.

 

Sherry

Sherry

Sherry holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Honours in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario with Distinction and a Bachelors of Applied Health Sciences (Athletic Therapy) degree with High Honours from Sheridan College.

 

Sherry has worked directly with several teams at the high school and university levels, including football, rugby, hockey, and basketball and has clinical experience in private practice settings.  She continues to work with several amateur teams, including OVFL football, ORU rugby and other club sports.

In her free time, Sherry continues to volunteer at many sporting events, including the Mississauga and Toronto Marathons, the Ontario Winter Games and the Tour for Kids.  She has done medical coverage for such events as National Wrestling Tournament, U18 National Women’s Hockey Championships and U14 National Tennis Championships.

Sherry has done professional development courses in manual therapy using osteopathic techniques and has practical experience with techniques such as Strain Counter Strain, Muscle Energy Techniques and various Soft Tissue release skills.

In her spare time, Sherry enjoys hiking, geo-caching, running and reading.

Sara

Sara

Sara holds a Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University and an Honours Bachelors degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Hispanic Studies. She has experience working in both acute care and rehabilitation hospitals as well as private orthopaedic clinics. She has worked in East Africa for a year in the private outpatient setting; while there, she was also able to use her background to train staff to treat various developmental disabilities using evidence-based treatment approaches.

Sara continues pursing professional development courses to further develop her skills in manual therapy. She has experience with various orthopaedic and osteopathic techniques. Her approach to treatment is client-centered with active participation of the client.

She enjoys running, hiking, and traveling in her free time. Her hobbies include cooking and photography.

Rana

Rana

Rana holds a master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto, along with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Carleton University. During his Masters education had experience treating musculoskeletal conditions with patients ranging from seniors to Canadian varsity university athletes. Additionally he also has had clinical placements in a neurological rehabilitation hospital as well as a paediatric acute care setting.

With his interest in manual therapy and functional training, Rana’s goal is to provide specific tailored hands on treatment and exercise prescription for every patient. Working together with clients to develop client centered goals and treatment plan, Rana strives to get every patient back to performing at their best. He is currently taking post graduate education in manual therapy through the orthopaedic division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, and plans to continue to gain further education in functional movement screening and osteopathic treatment techniques.

In his spare time Rana likes to stay fit and relax by working out, snowboarding, playing hockey, and picking up his acoustic guitar now and then.

Andres

Andrés

Andrés is a graduate of Sport Injury Therapy at the Canadian Therapeutic College and is a Registered Massage Therapist. He is also a graduate of the McMaster Medical Acupuncture Program and has continued his studies in prenatal massage. Since completing his studies, he has worked with national level gymnasts, local football teams and martial artists, providing them with professional, personal and the most current hands on treatments and rehabilitation methods available.

Andrés specializes in evidence based massage therapy and pregnancy massage. He enjoys various hobbies including mountain biking and sailing.

 

Moira

Moira

Moira holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo, a Diploma in Sports Injury Management from Sheridan College and most recently, a Diploma from the Ontario College of Health and Technology in Massage Therapy. She has been a Certified Athletic Therapist for 8 years and a Registered Massage Therapist for 3 years.

Moira has recently participated in 2 Half Marathons in the GTA, and continues to try and make gains in her own running endeavors. Having played soccer for over 20 years, suffering a fair share of injuries herself, Moira understands personally, the desire to return to play whether you’re a professional athlete or a weekend warrior.

Moira believes in an active approach to care. Whether you are looking for a relaxing massage or a deep tissue approach to healing, she will give you the tools you seek to aid in your recovery as quickly as possible.

 

Donna

Donna

Donna is a lifelong resident of Oakville. She joins us after a long and successful career in the Medical Publishing Industry. Like other Quality Care team members, she joins us after being a loyal client for over 17 years. Donna is delighted to be one of the first people you will see when you come to the clinic and will work hard to ensure your experience with us is better than expected.

Donna serves on the Steering Committee for the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Oakville which has raised more than a million dollars for Cancer research since its inception. She has a very active life full of family and friends and spends her time in the never ending pursuit of all things creative.

Holly

Sandra

Sandra holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto and is a long time resident of Oakville. She is happy to join us after a successful 20 year career in Outside Sales. Sandra lives with her husband and their dog Simon and in her free time she enjoys walking Simon, cooking, spending time with friends, and visiting her family in Texas. Sandra has been a long time client of Quality Care and has a passion for skiing, rollerblading and was once an avid soccer player. She looks forward to welcoming you with a big smile when you arrive at Quality Care!
